I've loved paper dolls since I was a little kid. We used to make them out of catalog pictures, newspapers, magazines & any other papers we could find. Like most creations from my childhood, they survive only in memories.
In the mid 1990s I started creating paper dolls again. My first serious effort was a large "bad girl" named Bon Bon Temps Rouler. She projects a New Orleans spirit & won second place at the 1998 UFDC convention in New Orleans. I rewarded myself with a 120 pencil set of Prismacolor colored pencils!
I continue to experiment with a variety of coloring & texture techniques - combining pencil & crayon, scanning fabric, layering colors in Photoshop, making collages & simply having fun with the process.
Recently, I added coloring pages & coloring books to the collection. I am also making dolls that can be personalized & ones that are available in many different skin tones & hair styles.
I hope you enjoy the results!
